Any damage dealt to a regressed character you control is reduced by two.

Regressed

This character cannot be the target of a fight until the turn after it regresses. Ignore this effect if its controller has no other characters in play.

Rulings

The effect of New Kid only prevents the character from being picked for a Fight during the turn they are Regressed. If Daycare Attendant gets Regressed during a Fight that they were already part of, the Fight proceeds as normal.
