ANE 2025
TBD
MFF 2024
- Time: 6pm to 10pm Saturday December 7th, 2024
- Location: Hyatt - Florence (MFF, Chicago)
- Organizer: Blake and Toby
There are no brackets, the goal is to play as many games with as many different people as you can. Once you find a person and finish a game with them please report the results of the game. We will record who you played and who won. Once you play a game with someone, you can choose to play them again, but it will not increase your number of wins for the tournament record.
The winner of the tournament will be the player who has won the most games. If there is a tie the winner will be the person who played against the most people. If there is still a tie players will compete in one final game.
Deck Format: 40 cards exactly, any rarity is allowed.
Winners
- Kazzuhira (Fountain Stall deck)
Fountain Stall is a deck that tries to ramp cookies faster than your opponent by using The Fountain, high resource generating cards (First Grader, New Kid, Messy Eater, etc.) and the doubling power of Pro Model all while denying your opponent the ability to fight each turn.
Daycare Attendant x3 Tenured Professor x2 Park Ranger x3 Food Critic x3 Professional Model x3 Archaeologist x3 Baking Show Finalist x1 Kit, Roaming Ranger x1
The Diaper Aisle x3 The 37th Floor Copier x2 Snack Cake Factory Tour x1 The Fountain x1
Naptime x3 Corner, Now! x3 "Break it up!" x2 A Nice Regressing Refreshing Bath x2 You Earned A Special Treat x2 Tattletale x1
Malfunctioning Remote x1
The strategy is to search out The Fountain on turn 1 or 2, or having it in your opening hand. If The Fountain is not in your hand use diaper aisle or Park Ranger to find it and add it to hand on turn 1. Your next priority should be getting characters on the field and regressing them. From there use any of the 4 fight enders/preventers in the deck to keep your opponent from sniping your regressed characters. This should win you if your cookie gain is set up properly.
Counters to this strategy: This deck loses hard to an agressive style of ramp deck. If an opponent starts their ramp first, you will not catch up unless you get VERY lucky. Understanding the key targets for removal is important for improving and beating this deck. If someone can send The Fountain to timeout in any way, the deck slows down immensely as The Fountain is important to refund our high cost cards. The other high priority target is Professional Model as her doubling effect causes the deck to ramp like crazy. Targeted removal cards are pivotal to countering this strategy as otherwise anyone running this deck will ramp faster than most other strategies can
