Fights are a step in the game where two players try to regress the other players character or send them to Timeout (if they are already regressed).

During a turn, a player may engage in one fight. The player whose turn it is choses one of their played characters and a played character of the opponent. Once characters are chosen, each player may play a combination of up to 4 quick action cards or quick abilities of played cards (both are marked with the shooting star symbol on the card). Once all actions are completed by both players, compare the Confidence and Maturity of both.

If a character's Confidence is greater then or equal to the Maturity of the opposing character, that character is generally either regressed (if they are an adult) or sent to Timeout (if they are regressed). There are some exceptions to this, which might be noted on the character card. For example, some characters can't be regressed (for example Ghost Hands).

If you regress your opponent's character or send it to Timeout, this is considered a "win" and you receive the rewards marked on your opponent's character card.

If your character is regressed or sent to Timeout, this is considered a "loss" and your opponent gains the rewards marked on your character's card.

It is possible to both win and lose a fight, in which case, both players gain their rewards. A fight is considered a tie if neither player wins or loses.

The fight step is totally optional and can be skipped, unless required by a card effect.

One way to win a round of Little Troubles is to amass 10 fight wins.
