Banlist

In official tournament play, certain cards may have restrictions on play. In Constructed Play, cards work on set rotation: the most recent main set, and the previous two main sets, are legal, while older sets are no longer legal (barring cards which have since been reprinted in more recent sets).

In addition, certain cards may not be legal for play in certain situations (for example, Pre-Game Actions are not valid for online tournaments, as it is impossible to give these cards to your opponent physically).

Below is a list of cards and sets alongside their legality. Cards from invalid sets that have been reprinted, upgrades and cards that are banned are listed below. This list aims to be up-to-date and comprehensive, but always confirm with a Big during tournament play if you are unsure.

Statuses

• Legal: This card can be played as normal, and has no restrictions.
• Reprinted: This card is from an otherwise-invalid set, but is legal to play as it has been reprinted.
• Upgraded: This card has been upgraded to its unique version (e.g. from a Character to a Main Character), and is treated as such for deck construction (max. 1 copy) and gameplay (is treated as the unique version, and is not treated as the non-unique version). Versions of these cards before they were upgraded are legal to play as long as you are aware of this change and treat them as such.
• Storyteller-exclusive: This card is exclusive to Storyteller format and cannot be used in Constructed Play tournaments.
• Not legal: This card is not legal to play in tournament settings.

Constructed Play

A general rule of thumb for card legality for reprints is:

• a card is legal if it has been printed in the last three Main Sets. The most recent set is Into The Jungle(Gym) (Set 5), meaning cards (re)printed between Roll For Regression (Set 3) and Into The Jungle(Gym) are legal, unless otherwise stated.
• Any older versions of these cards are also legal to play (but you are responsible for ensuring you and other players are aware of any upgrades or errata to these cards).
• A card released in a side set is legal if the side set has been released within the last three Main Sets. Side set reprints of a card do not update a card's legality unless those cards are exclusive to side sets (e.g. Lil' Finn).
• Cards released in side sets that are equivalent to a Main Set card (e.g Vendor Fun cards) inherit the legality of the card they are equivalent to, i.e. if it is based on a card that is no longer legal, that card is also not legal. You can tell if these cards are legal because they contain the ID number for the original card.
